 IENVENUE and Welcome to Reaching for a Star, our Flickr Xmas fund-raising campaign for 2008-2009. This is the time of the year when we must open our hearts to the children who call the streets their home. It is time for a new edition of the Reaching for a Star campaign. The Flickr Photo Sharing Community has collaborated each year by donating thousands of dollars in order to make Christmas a better one for these kids. Let's make it happen again this year. Donors will receive e-mail confirmation of their contribution.

FLICKR XMAS CAMPAIGN 2008/09 — Reaching for a Star
Brazil has an unaccounted number of kids living on its streets. A good figure is: thousands too many.
They are exposed to all sorts of violence: drugs; sex abuse, murder.
Every new day these children wake up to a nightmare.
You can change much of that sad World record.
Our beloved Hummingbird Project works to prevent street boys and street girls from happening.
Hummingbird assists almost 1000 at-risk community children and former street kids.
Its been around for 15 years.
The Hummingbirds provide food, art and education, health, culture, sports, love and the hope of a new life for those kids.
